With just over 3 months to go before the next School Led Conference by Prestolee, we are proud to be announcing the 40 Schools Fundraising Challenge!
Working in-conjunction with our chosen charity partner, Rebuilding Schools Nepal, our target is to raise £20,000 to support the rebuilding of Antarastriya Yuwa Barsa Secondary School damaged in the 2015 earth quakes.
Together, we are looking for 40 schools to commit to raising £500 each over the next 6 months. to help ensure we reach our overall target.
Prestolee Primary School are already involved in fundraising for this important cause, and to help further their understanding, the children in Year 5 have even written letters for the school children in Nepal.
Elliott in Year 5 said,
"We are looking forward to taking part in the 40 Schools Challenge. We want to help other children thrive and succeed like we do. When I was writing my letter, I was excited to put a smile on somebody else’s face.’’
Mike Tonge, CEO of Prestolee MAT said,
“It’s not only a good cause but it has huge benefits for our own children too. They learn about what life is like on the other side of the world and see how direct fundraising can bring about great results.”
Sophie Wright, Assistant Headteacher at Prestolee, has developed a slide show presentation outlining the story of the school, linking it with the Key Stage 2 Curriculum.
We encourage you to share this with the children in your school, and help them understand why their, and your help with this project is so vital.
